About Me

My
Story

I’m Melanie. For the last three years, I’ve been a solo traveler and backpacker, building a life outdoors that I once thought was for “other people.”
I did not start from confidence. I started from low self-esteem, little self-respect, and a habit of putting everyone else first. I used to daydream about adventures, then immediately talk myself out of them. I told myself I was not capable. I told myself those dreams were too big, too far away, and not meant for me.
A painful breakup became the turning point. It showed me something I could not ignore: no one was coming to save me. I had to choose myself.
So I got to work. I learned everything I could about backpacking and tried anyway, even when I was scared. My first two trips did not go how I planned. They were messy, hard, and honestly a little discouraging. But they taught me what confidence is really made of: showing up again.
I started joining group trips, and while I loved being outside, I still felt something missing, especially as a woman. I wanted real connection, not just being in the same place at the same time. That is when I decided to travel and backpack solo, pushing myself beyond what felt comfortable and taking that leap across the world.
Now I share what I have learned with other women who want to do the same. This community is for people who are ready to step outside their comfort zone, heal in nature, have epic adventures, and build lasting relationships through the outdoors.
If you have been waiting for a sign that you can do this too, let this be it.
